What is a PIN?
PIN stands for Personal Identification Number. It is a unique designation that you yourself create to prevent unauthorized persons from
viewing confidential information. In order to protect your privacy, the Library requires a PIN to be used when accessing your account.
A PIN may consist of 1 to 32 characters and may be comprised of any combination of letters and numbers.
Where do I get a PIN?
You create you PIN the first time you access your library account. Here's how:
- After entering your card number, click on the "If you do not have a PIN, click here" link.
- Enter your new PIN into both of the PIN boxes.
- Click on the "Submit" button.
Be sure to remember your PIN as library staff can not look it up for you.
How can I change my PIN?
You can change your PIN at any time. You will need to know your
current PIN in order to do so. If you have forgotten your PIN, see
the next section.
- From the "My Account" option in the Library Catalog, enter your library card number and
current PIN.
- Click on the "Submit" button.
- Click on the "Change Your PIN" button.
- Enter your old PIN into the first box.
- Enter your new PIN into the next two boxes.
- Click on the "Submit" button.
What if I can't remember my PIN?
Library staff can not look up your PIN. If you should forget what your PIN is, you will need to visit the
Check-out Desk to request that your old PIN be deleted. You will need to present a picture ID.
Once the old PIN has been deleted, you may then set up a new one.
